Welcome to my personal website!
I am a classical philologist and an interdisciplinary researcher. I received my PhD in Classics from the University of Florida in 2022 and I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics at Carleton College.
This site is a space for sharing my academic projects, pedagogical and teaching approaches, and my community outreach endeavors.
Research
My research interests are centered around classical Athenian drama, classical reception, and digital humanities with a focus on the concepts of identity performance, otherness, and inclusivity in fifth-century BCE Athens and contemporary North America. My projects aim at communicating my academic work with audiences inside-and-outside academia to create spaces for social change.
Teaching
I have taught a comprehensive array of courses, from Greek drama and Latin poetry to the reception of the Greco-Roman world in popular media, as well as courses that explore the genres of fantasy and science-fiction in antiquity and the contemporary world. My classes seek to foster an academic environment focused on broadening my students’ intellectual horizons while challenging them to reach their full potential.
Community Outreach
I am committed to being an active member of the Classics community and continuously work to broaden its reach both within and beyond academia. My passion for public engagement and outreach drives me to be an advocate for the democratization of knowledge.
